Patterns

This practical basket made with recycled t-shirt yarn works up super quickly & makes such a sweet gift or addition to your home.

I've attached a step-by-step video as well as the written pattern below, so, if you're a complete beginner to crochet, this is an ideal starting place!

As always, if you have any questions about the pattern or materials used, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Final Size - 4 inches x 4 inches

To construct this piece, we will firstly work in the round for the base of the basket & then we will move onto rounds finished with a slip stitch & a chain one in order to create an even side.

You will put your stitch marker in the first stitch of each row which will make it easy to keep count of your rows.

The entire basket will be made up of single crochets only, making this the ideal project for beginners.

This basket can be made up using any hook and yarn size depending on the size of basket you’re aiming for.

Please note the final round of the basket can be tricky as you will be working into chain stitches - you’ll get a really clear idea of how to do this in the accompanying video. The same can be said with creating your magic circle - take your time with this & practice the technique. The magic circle is the beginning to so many projects & you’ll be blown away by all the things you’ll be able to make once you have it down so it’s worth persevering!

Please note that I will be using US terminology - I’ve included a UK chart for reference below.
